Our Corten products, made from the slow-rusting material Corten, are delivered with a clean metal surface and rust when left outdoors. If you want to speed up the rusting process, you can mix a little regular table salt with water and spray it on with a plant mister. One or two tablespoons per 0.5 liters of water is usually about right. Do this approximately twice a day for two days. Then spray with clean water a few times to remove any salt residue. The more often you wet the steel and then let it dry, the faster you will achieve an attractive rust surface.
